Stacked Fountain by Sabine Marcelis

Consisting of two peach colored blocks, Stacked Fountain features a complex path along which the water flows down from the top. Displayed on top of travertine plinths, the futuristic aesthetic, evanescent lightness and the semi polished gloss of Marcelis’ cast resin artwork is here poetically juxtaposed with the classical connotations, hefty splendor and rich texture of the travertine stone. 

Clean, soft lines and the use of ethereal materials such as polished resin and water is thus contrasted with the historical travertine stone. Sabine Marcelis considers her designs to be true sensorial experiences and not simple static works; In Stacked Fountain the experience becomes the function with refined, unique og juxtaposing aesthetics.
