Countless iterations have been distilled into functional pieces or systems that transform and shape a space into a living environment. Understanding the world in constant movement, the studio represents a position within ‘fluidity’ as a philosophy, material system and aesthetic.
The works showcased at Etage Projects explore transitions as the space that oscillates between the naive and realistic, the fluid and solid, and the safe and experimental. Representing a balance of structure and freedom, non-figurative yet concrete, the works are seamless and sensuous, based on repetition of form and made in bio-based, studio-made materials that make every single piece singular, one-of-a-kind. The works embody a deliberate contrast between rigid frameworks and the organic, almost unpredictable qualities of natural materials.
The works are the result of a continuous journey of experimentation and refinement, each piece representing a nuanced conversation with its medium. An attempt to define a new direction, perhaps even a novel design tradition. This, in turn, informs the expression of each piece. Each is an invitation—to reconsider the objects we surround ourselves with, to touch, to move, to live with these objects in ways that inspire a meaningful connection to the world.
