DC is short for Dawn Chorus, the title of Stine Deja’s exhibition from where these futuristic beings derive — now oversized and ever more strange. In between anthropomorphic creatures and manipulated everyday commodities, the sculptures speculate a life configuration that does not yet exist. Prior to their current existence, they were part of a singing choir symbolizing something novel lurking ahead. Now, they have experienced growing pains and gained a calm and cool attitude as if they have found their final state of being. More so is DC the serial number initials for Direct Current — the electricity most electronic uses — empathizing that their presence exists between the digital and the physical.
